Examples of Texture

1. Invented Texture: Despite this portion of the image being abstract shapes, there is a sense of texture that is given by the blue lines mottling the green surface.

2. Abstracted Texture: The graphic at the bottom of this book cover attempts to replicate another texture (in this case, leather binding). However, this time it is not made to look photorealistic but merely suggested by the use of color and shading.

3. Actual Texture: In this close-up of my batik assignment, the physical, tangible texture of the canvas on which the image was made is apparent.

4. Simulated Texture: the cover of the book attempts to replicate the look of torn paper, simulating a texture which is not there but can almost be felt by the viewer.
